It’s the festive season again and you might need your employee provident fund (EPF) money to renovate your house, buy that fancy car, or fund your loved one’s wedding. And it’s always convenient to apply for it online. However, before applying for it online, please ensure you have activated your Universal Account Number (UAN) and that the phone number linked to UAN is functional. Moreover, you must ensure you have put in relevant details such as Aadhar card number, bank account number, PAN card number, and IFSC code, in the EPFO database for claims to go through easily.
You can withdraw your EPF amount partially or completely. Here are steps to withdraw your EPF money online on the UAN portal:

Step 4: You will see the member details, KYC, and other service details, on a screen. Enter your bank account number and click on ‘verify.’

Step 6: Now click on ‘Proceed for Online Claim.’
Step 7: Under the tab ‘I want to apply for,’ select the claim you require - EPF full settlement, EPF part withdrawal (loan or advance), or pension withdrawal. In case you are not eligible for any of these, you will not find this option in the drop-down menu.
Step 8: Then, click on ‘PF Advance (Form 31)’ to withdraw your funds. You need to mention the purpose of such advance, the amount required, and the employee’s address.
Step 9: Finally, select the certificate and file your application. You may have to file scanned documents too.
Once you have successfully filed your EPF application, there are steps to check your withdrawal status:
Step 1: You need to log into the UAN portal using the UAN and the password.
Step 2: Select the ‘online services’ tab and click on the ‘track claim status’ option.
Step 3: Put in the reference number.
Step 4: You will find your status displayed on the screen.
After withdrawal of the EPF money online, it would take around 15-20 days to be credited into your account.
