The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) is a pension scheme for individuals working in the organised sector. EPF allows individuals to create a retirement fund. Under the scheme, the employee and the employer each contribute 12 per cent of the employee’s basic salary towards the fund monthly. What Is Pension Payment Order (PPO) Number And How Can You Get It?
The Central Pension Accounting Office provides pensioners with a 12-digit PPO number for reference when communicating with CPAO or EPFO. The first eight digits of the PPO number represent the issuing authority’s code and the issuing year, and the remaining digits represent the PPO’s sequential number and the digit for computer use.
To check your pension status online, visit the EPFO portal and select the Pensioner’s portal under the services tab. Click “Know your PPO number” button on the right side of the page. Then, provide your bank account number or the PF number. After that, it will provide you with a PPO number, a member ID, and the pension type to help you check your pension status.
After receiving the pension number, simply follow these six steps to check the pension status on the EPFO site.
Step 1: Enter your login information to EPFO’s official website.
Step 2: Go to the online services area and click on the Pensioner’s portal.
Step 3: At this point, a new page with the words “Welcome to Pensioners Portal” will show on your screen.
