The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) is a pension scheme for individuals working in the organised sector. EPF allows individuals to create a retirement fund. Under the scheme, the employee and the employer each contribute 12 per cent of the employee’s basic salary towards the fund monthly. The employee can check the pension status on the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) portal with their 12-digit Universal Account Number or UAN.

EPFO provides information for all members, whether they are still working or have already retired. In the case of retirees, they must submit the Pension Payment Order (PPO), which is also a 12-digit unique number like UAN, for information regarding their pension account.

What Is Pension Payment Order (PPO) Number And How Can You Get It?

The Central Pension Accounting Office provides pensioners with a 12-digit PPO number for reference when communicating with CPAO or EPFO. The first eight digits of the PPO number represent the issuing authority’s code and the issuing year, and the remaining digits represent the PPO’s sequential number and the digit for computer use.

Then, provide your bank account number or the PF number. After that, it will provide you with a PPO number, a member ID, and the pension type to help you check your pension status.
