The Telangana government issues a senior citizen card or certificate to elderly people domiciled in the state to help them easily access various government welfare schemes.

The UP widow pension or “UP vidhwa” pension is a state government-run monthly pension scheme for widows to help them sustain their living.

Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra is ALIMCO’s initiative, which works under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, to offer assistive devices to senior citizens and people with disabilities at affordable rates. Earlier there were only 10 centres, which have now increased to 45. The government aims to establish 100 centres across the country by June this year.
