Assess in advance how you plan to use the credit card and what your approximate monthly usage would be. Based on your assessment, check the credit limit offered by the card company and choose the one that would be adequate for you. Your card spending should be around 30 per cent of the total card limit to keep the credit utilization ratio within a lower range. If you would often use more than 30 per cent of the available credit limit on your card, it will impact your credit score negatively. So, a higher credit limit can help you in keeping a healthy credit score.
