The notification clarifies, “For example, a pensioner born on August 20, 1942, shall be eligible for additional pension at 10 per cent of the basic pension from August 1, 2022. A pensioner born on August 1, 1942, shall also be eligible for additional pension at 20 per cent of the basic pension from August 1 2022.” The age-linked additional pension will give super senior pensioners a financial cushion as their age advances.
