Samagra Pension Portal

Senior citizens in Madhya Pradesh can use the Samagra portal to check their eligibility for social security benefits. The portal, developed in 2010, provides information about all families and family members living in the state. The details include name, father’s name, marital status, bank account number, and BPL status. Let’s understand Samagra Portal Benefits which are available for seniors.

According to the Samagra website, the date of birth (DoB) will not appear by default, and the applicants will have to upload it on their own. So, senior citizens or anyone who wants to receive benefits from any of the schemes of the government on the portal needs to upload their documents for the DoB verification. Further, to avail of the benefits of the schemes on the portal, it is mandatory to do an Aadhaar-based e-KYC and keep a bank account linked with it so that the benefit can be transferred directly to them.

Pension Benefits For Senior Citizens

The portal is easy to understand, and anyone, a resident of the state, can check the scheme eligibility criteria, application procedure, and documents required to avail of the scheme benefits.

Senior citizens can enroll for the pension benefits, and if they are found eligible, they can avail of the benefits of schemes such as the Social Security Old Age Pension Scheme, Social Security Abandoned Pension Scheme, and Pension for inmates living in old age homes, Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), among other schemes.

Out of the various options, such as pensions, education, and other schemes on the portal, one can choose the relevant option from the ‘Other Portals Using Samagra’. For example, to check the pension-related information, seniors need to click on the pension scheme under this option. It will then show details of the pension amount, number of pensioner’s district, and local-body wise, approved pension.

However, to receive the benefits of any of the social security schemes, one needs to have an SSSM ID, which is a Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission (SSSM) identity document. The ID proof is issued only to the residents. The state issues this ID to the family members as well as the families. The family member’s SSSM ID is a nine-digit number, and the family SSSM ID is an eight-digit number.

They can even track their application status on the portal, the timeframe it will take to complete the process, and any updates if there is any issue.
