The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) has designed the Single Pension Application Form 6-A in a way that would bring a modern, simplified pension application process to the retiring Central Government employees. It amalgamates nine older forms into one application form.
Form 6-A is a combined form to streamline the application process for pension and comprises various forms including Forms 6, 8, and others of Central Civil Services (CCS) Pension Rules, 2021. All the retiring employees from November 16, 2024, will be mandated to submit it. Two online portals are accessible, namely Bhavishya and e-HRMS 2.0.

Completely Paperless: It is a paperless form which does not demand any physical submission.

Integrated Data: It has integrated details like pension nominations, family details and options for commutation.
Efficiency: It cuts down processing time, hence pension is paid in time post-retirement.
Simplified Compliance: All amendments under Rules 53, 57, 58, 59, and 60 of CCS Pension Rules are brought in under.
Retiring employees can apply online through Bhavishya or e-HRMS 2.0, depending on the department's adoption of these platforms. Here is a step-by-step application process:
Access the Platform: For superannuation cases, use the e-HRMS 2.0 portal. For other retirement cases: Use the Bhavishya platform.
Personal Details Update: Ensure that all your family details and other essential information are updated before making the application
Filling up the Form: Fill Form 6-A with all the compulsorily required sections of pension options and nominations.
Submission of Form: The form should be submitted at least six months in advance before the date on which retirement is to be commenced so that there is no delay in receiving the pension.
Track Status of Application: Available through the online portal, track the status of your pension application.
The government has also designed an orientation for HoOs (Heads of Office) and Nodal Officers. They will act as bridges in order to have a seamless transition across the ministries and departments.
