Sevana pension is a Kerala government initiative that provides pensions to people from five categories: senior citizens, disabled, destitute women, and agricultural workers, through separate schemes. A Sevana pension app has also been created so people can conveniently access the schemes. The beneficiaries receive Rs 1,500 monthly as pension directly in their bank accounts.
To access the Sevana web portal or the app, the eligible beneficiaries must register and generate the login credentialsonthe platform by providing necessary details, including proof of address and phone number.

How To Log Into The Sevana Portal?

The login procedure for the Sevana Pension Scheme is simple. Follow the steps below.
To log in, you need to visit the Sevana pension scheme website.
Go to the home page and fill out a sign-in form; choose the login button at the bottom left corner.
Create an account with your email, name, and contact details, select a username and password and type in the captcha code.
Click on the login tab to enter the credentials to log in and out.
The eligible beneficiaries can apply for the relevant Sevana pension scheme to avail of the benefits. They will need to download the respective forms and fill them out before submitting them.
For example, agricultural workers can download the Agricultural Worker Pension form pdf and take a printout to fill out the details before submitting it to the concerned department by attaching necessary documents like ID proof, Address proof, passport-sized photo, birth certificate, cast/disability certificates and bank details.
How To Check Pension Status?
To check your Sevana Pension status online in 2024, complete these steps:
· Open your browser and go to welfarepension.lsgkerala.gov.in.
· Look for and pick the "Pension Status" option, which is usually located under the 'Services' or 'Pensioners' menu.
· Enter the needed information, such as your pension ID or registration number.
· To proceed, click either the 'Submit' or 'Check Status' buttons.
· Your pension status will be presented on the screen, including payment dates and amounts.
· You can download or print this information for your records.
This simple process lets you obtain and review your Sevana pension status online. The portal also provides beneficiaries with various information regarding pension schemes so that they can select the relevant one for them.
Due to the large number of beneficiaries, the pension distribution process faced many hiccups before. The portal and the app simplified this process. The beneficiaries can also apply for the pension schemes by visiting the designated government offices.
There were also allegations of mishandling of the pension disbursal process. A survey by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) found that some 20 per cent of the direct-transfer beneficiaries were ineligible for the schemes and other irregularities.
