The Samagra portal is an online platform developed by the Madhya Pradesh government for the residents of the state. It provides information on various social security and welfare schemes of the state government. They can also check their eligibility for the schemes and apply for the same through the portal.

Previously, information on the beneficiaries of different schemes was not available easily because of the huge amount of time it would take to get hold of such information. The online portal, which was developed in 2010, addresses all these issues, and besides providing information of the schemes available, also provides facility to apply for the same on the portal.

What Is The Samagra Portal?

The portal contains information on all families and family members residing in the state, including details, such as name, father’s name, education, marital status, savings account number, below-poverty line (BPL) status, etc. It serves as a comprehensive database, covering information, from the time a baby is born to the time when the child becomes eligible for admission in angawadi, in school, scholarship eligibility, wedding assistance for BPL families, widow pension, food security to eligible families, and so on.

 

Of the different benefits provided by the state government, senior citizens (people aged 60 years and above) who fall in the BPL category can also avail of pension benefits.

Benefits For Senior Citizens: It facilitates fast processing of benefits. Senior citizens can avail themselves of pension benefits through schemes, such as Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), Social Security Old Age Pension Scheme, Social Security Abandoned Pension Scheme, and Pension for inmates living in old age homes, among other schemes.

 

How To Check Eligibility For Pension Schemes?

 

Residents can check eligibility criteria, required documents, and application procedures on the website, and select the relevant portal options (Pension, BPL, Sparsh, Education, Pramaan) under the ‘Other Portals Using Samagra.’

 

For pension-related information, one has to check the pension portal. Once done, the new screen will display the various schemes available. After clicking on the scheme, the next window will show the various options, including pensions approved, pension amount, the number of pensioners district-wise and local body-wise, know your eligibility, and so on. Anyone can check the eligibility for the social security scheme using the last mentioned option.

 

What Is Samagra ID?

 

To apply for these schemes, individuals must have the Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission (SSSM) identity document. The SSSM ID is issued to the residents of the state to register themselves and avail of the benefits of government schemes. The SSSM ID is of two types: Family ID and Family member ID. The family Samagra ID is an 8-digit number whereas the family member ID is a unique 9-digit number. The government also issues Samagra ID cards.

 

Through the Samagra ID, seniors can apply for pensions online, avoiding the need to visit government offices. They can even provide suggestions or file complaints through the portal. If applying for any of the benefits, they can check the status of their application, expected completion timeframe, and receive updates if there is any issue.

 

How To Apply For SSSM ID?

 

Applicants can apply for Samagra SSSM ID both offline by approaching their local Panchayat, or online through the official Samagra website.

 

For online application, here are the steps to follow.

 

Step 1: Visit the official Samagra website, and click on ‘Register Family/Member in Samagra’ on the homepage.

 

Step 2: On the new screen, enter your mobile number in the given box. Enter the OTP received on your mobile.

 

Step 3: Next, select the options to verify.

 

Step 4: If you choose Aadhaar, enter your Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number, enter that and click to proceed.

 

Step 5: Enter details, such as your address, marital status, panchayat, village name, etc. Tick the declaration box, enter the captcha code, and click on proceed.

 

Your registration will be deemed complete. You will nowreceive a message or you can check your Samagra ID on the portal through your mobile number and take a printout of the ID card.
