Activating your Universal Account Number offers several benefits. It lets you track your EPF accounts when you change jobs.
Earlier, the process took time, mainly when you misplaced the PF account details. UAN simplifies this by putting all EPF account-related details under it. It is like a bank customer ID, even though you may have different savings, current, fixed, and recurring deposit accounts.
UAN activation allows one to easily access EPF details, facilitate automatic EPF account transfers when changing jobs, carry out online withdrawals, check balances, and receive SMS updates on a registered mobile number.
