With face authentication and many more user-friendly options, nothing has ever been easier for pensioners to get their digital life certificate.
Central government pensioners can submit their digital life certificates or Jeevan Pramaan via the face authentication facility provided by the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW). It is faster than the physical process, although they can also opt for biometric verification, iris scan, Video KYC, or India Post Payments Bank Gramin Dak Sevaks.
This campaign covers all the district headquarters and around 800 towns. Every pensioner, even in remote areas, can easily submit the annual life certificate under this campaign from November 1 to 30, 2024, the usual window for submission every year, except for super senior pensioners, who can submit the certificate between October 1 and 30.

Face authentication doesn't require pensioners to visit a bank or a pension disbursal office to submit the life certificate, which they can do from their homes. The department has appealed to pensioners to use this facility for convenience and speedy processing of cases. Also Read: Tax Implication On VRS: How To Maximise Post-Retirement Gains

1. Download Aadhaar Face RD App
Download "Aadhaar Face RD (Early Access)" from the Google Play Store. The application of UIDAI has been designed to provide support through some of its back-end processes to run the Jeevan Pramaan Application. Ensure you download the latest version supported by the Aadhaar Face RD application- 3.6.3.
2. Operator Authentication
Open the Jeevan Pramaan app. You will be redirected to the "Operator Authentication" page. Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number and email address, tick the Aadhaar checkbox followed by a click on 'submit'.
3. OTP verification
You will receive an OTP on the mobile number and email address that you have registered. You are required to input the OTP to authenticate your contact information.
4. First Face Scan
You will be prompted to enter your name as per Aadhaar after authentication. It will seek permission to access the camera to scan your face. Accept all the permissions.
5. Pensioner Authentication
Once you scan the face, you will be taken to a new login page for pensioner authentication. Your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and optional email ID should be filled in, then click the "Submit" button. There will be an OTP on your mobile again for verification.
6. Pensioner Details
Once you submit the OTP, provide all details in the form: your name, type of pension, PPO number, and pension account number. Finally, you must specify the disbursing agency after filling all these fields. Verify all declarations required and then submit the form.
7. Final Face Scan
The final step would be to carry out the second face scan for pensioners' verification purposes. Once the scan is complete, your submission for a Digital Life Certificate will be confirmed on the mobile screen, and you will receive the Pramaan ID and the PPO number as an acknowledgement number.
Those interested may download two easy applications and, with the help of a few simple steps, can submit life certificates from home without any need to visit any bank or government office. In this way, time is saved, unnecessary visits are avoided, and accessibility becomes easier for the senior citizen. Pensioners can continue using old methods; however, face authentication is the most convenient method.
