At the peak of his career, Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey announced his retirement on Monday through his Instagram post. The 37-year-old actor recently delivered several hits, including 12th Fail released in October 2023, Sector 36 in September 2024, and the latest, The Sabarmati Report on November 15, 2024. In his Instagram post, he wrote: “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your unforgettable support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and return home. As a Husband, Father and a Son. And also as an Actor”.

He welcomed his first child, Vardaan, in February this year and while excelling in his professional career also, his decision to ‘go back home’ at this point in time came unexpectedly.

In The Sabarmati Report, he portrayed a journalist investigating the incident to uncover the truth. The film received acclaim from notable figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, who praised it for its depiction of events.

Vikrant Massey’s Retirement:

“So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted”, he mentioned.

However, the solace is that there are two more movies of him in the pipeline, which are expected to be released in 2025.

He has not shared his future plans in his post. Retirement at this age seems too early and that too in a career he is excelling in as of now. As reported by PTI, his last release The Sabarmati Report has garnered around Rs 33 crore at the box office according to the production house Balaji Motion Pictures. The movie is about the Godhra incident in Gujrat that happened on February 27, 2002, and the riots afterwards.

Reportedly, he is currently working on two films, Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.
