The Haryana government has released its new beneficiary list for old-age pensions. Registered pensioners and those applying for the first time can check their application status after logging into the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment’s web portal. The government has also released information on how to check the pension status using the Aadhaar card, Pensioner’s ID card or bank details.

Know More About Haryana Old Age Samman Allowance

The Haryana government offers senior citizens from the economically weaker section of society an old-age pension, also called Old Age Samman Allowance. Those aged 60 and above and domiciled in the state with an annual income not exceeding Rs 3 lakh are eligible to receive Rs 3,000 monthly. However, individuals already receiving pensions from the government or its statutory bodies and organisations do not qualify for the pension.

Other Financial Assistance

The Haryana government also provides financial assistance to other marginalised people, such as transgender, widows, differently-abled people, destitute women and children, children with disability, eunuchs, dwarfs, Kashmiri migrants, and victims of severe crimes.

Recent Developments

Haryana has recently amended the Old Age Samman Allowance scheme to include EPF pensioners who receive less than Rs 3,000 per month under its eligible beneficiaries. This will ensure that EPF pensioners will receive equal benefits as old-age pensioners. Currently, senior citizens receiving EPF benefits are excluded from the Old Age Samman Allowance scheme.

How To Check The Pension List?

To check if your name has been included in the beneficiary list for the old pension allowance, visit the website of the Haryana government’s Department of Social Welfare and Empowerment. Then, click the option on the top of the website, “View beneficiary list”. Upon selecting that option, you will be taken to a new page. Here, you must provide all the required information, such as the pension type, village name, block, taluka, and district. After this, you will need to input any of the following options: the Aadhar number, pension ID or bank account number. Finally, fill out the captcha code and click the submit button to view the beneficiary list. You can check the names of the existing pensioners and those newly added to the pension list as per the respective selected villages, blocks and pension schemes.

The state cabinet has recently also approved the appointment of faculty members in government medical, dental, and nursing colleges on contractual basis to enhance healthcare education and services to the needy. The policy addresses the shortage of qualified faculty members in healthcare institutions while ensuring compliance with staffing norms set by the central regulatory authorities.
